Delma Peralta, Ai in sectors?

                                       

The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has ushered in a new era of transformative change across various sectors, and its impact on the economy is particularly profound. I found it very cool how we were presented with a chance to research and then present a topic like this. My groups topic was ai in sports and economy, I presented ai in economy and how Miami Dade college helps navigate these new tools. My favorite part about this little project was honestly the research, I love learning about new things especially things that intrigue me. I learned so many new things about ai and how our school wonderfully helps us, and future generations understand ai and see it as a tool rather than danger. 

This project was divided into three groups. Group one had the topic of ai in fun and education, my group which was group two had ai in sports and economy and group three had ai in mental health and career.  

Group 1  

Group 1 presented ai in fun and education. I loved how organized they were, and I loved their tone of voice when speaking about the topic. They really knew how to grab your attention and keep you listening. For someone who at times has a low attention span they really captivated me. The way they spoke and the way they were organized showed that they truly cared about this topic and how fascinated they were about it. Everything in general just showed that they really knew about what they were talking about, it showed that they did research and fully grasped the message at hand. About their topic I already had some previous common knowledge about ai in social life/ education just because it's everywhere. For example, it's in customer service, and social media. AI-powered algorithms on social media platforms curate personalized content and advertisements, enhancing user experiences. Chatbots and virtual assistants provide instant customer support and engage in natural language conversations, making interactions more convenient. AI algorithms recommend movies, music, and other forms of entertainment tailored to individual preferences, enhancing the overall entertainment experience. AI-powered video games create more immersive and challenging experiences through dynamic game design and adaptive AI opponents. Besides my previous knowledge, I learned new things from them. I didn’t know that the department of education had guidelines for ai until group 1 presented these guidelines. “The Department of Education's response to artificial intelligence (AI) was released in May 2023. It acknowledges the obvious need for knowledge sharing, community engagement, and the improvement of technology plans and policies for AI use in education” (Escudero, Aziz). This just shows how the education system is starting to evolve with this new technology.  

 
Group 2

Group two was my groups topic on ai ins ports and economy. I loved the communication between my group. If any of us were lost, we would ask a question and our group leader or members were quick to respond and give insight. Honestly, I really enjoyed researching this topic. My group gave great insight and helped the other groups understand how transformative ai is in these sectors and the future. for example: We talked about the good ai and bad ai in sports, how the government supports and regulates, how ai is transforming the sports industry and even how our college is helping to navigate these new tools and what they already offer. Mdc has opened two new ai centers, one in Wolfson campus and the other in north campus. This space will become the epicenter for all AI-related activities at MDC and in Miami. The establishment of MDC's AI Center is driven by the growing demand for AI professionals. Mdc also has a bachelors in ai set to start in 2024. The school already offers an ai awareness certificate Which is a three-course program suited for students in any field interested in learning about the applications of AI across a variety of sectors, stages involved in a typical AI project, and the ethical considerations when adopting these technologies. presenting on the topic of AI in the economy was an enjoyable and enlightening experience for several reasons. The transformative power of AI, the potential economic advantages it offers, and the complex challenges and ethical considerations it poses make it a captivating subject of study and discussion. 

 

Group 3 

Group three topic was ai in mental health and career. To me this topic is very intriguing as at first, I didn’t think that ai could possibly be used in mental health but then I realized I had interacted with this type of ai before. Telehealth and Online Therapy is  

AI-enhanced telehealth platforms enable remote mental health consultations. They can provide insights and recommendations to mental health professionals, making therapy more effective and accessible. I loved how this group really delved inside the topic, it showed they had great knowledge about their topic. I learned so many new things from them and I loved how organized they were. They spoke with confidence and amazing tones. I loved how they showed their interviews. I took inspiration in their presentation organization and made mine more colorful as it can really catch the eye. I love how they gave insight on ai’s history and the future of it. I learned from them about the evolution of Ai chatbots, facial recognition, and even the 3D omniverse. I learned how ai is helping right now with self-checkout, facial recognition, self-check in, and much more. Their presentation taught me how prevalent ai is.

Conclusion 

All the groups gave great insights on their topic and respectively showed their great knowledge and understanding of their topics. This was a fun presentation with intriguing topics that are hard to find. With more integration of ai in topics, it can help the public understand ai and how it is and how it works and even help people realize how much we already use it and how present it is in our daily lives. All of these presentations showed the good and bad in ai, but hopefully shed a good light on it and how it can be used for great benefits and treat it as a friend rather than the enemy.
