For some people like me when it comes to speaking publicly it doesn't come easily. You might get the cold sweats, freeze up or stutter a lot. Some people even pass out due to fear or throw up before, during or after the presentation. There is actually a fear called glossophobia which is also known as the fear of public speaking, it is estimated that 77% of the population has this fear to some degree. Some people are able to overcome this fear, and some cannot. What I learned from the Paul Nelson's, Scott Titsworth's and Judy Pearson's 2013 edition "iSpeak" really helped me out and understand how to be prepared for a speech and how to present it.

As far as the presentations go, group one was first to present. I learned what makes public speaking so important. The presentation processes. What to avoid in presentations and how to avoid it. How to choose a topic. What types of presentations there are and most importantly how to analyze the audience.  I think as a group they did wonderful; it would have been nice if they would have turned on their cameras to put a face to the voices that I was listening to. But overall, it was a great learning curve. After listening to them it made me go back and tweak my own slides for my presentation that I was going to present. I realized I didn't have enough information or to much information on certain subjects. I thought that they could have been a little more prepared like maybe rehearsed more as a group as a lot of people would take a little while to present because they weren't there when it was there turn.

The second group was next to present, which was my group and in our PowerPoint presentation you learned:
How to find information and support your ideas. How to organize and outline your presentation. How to deliver a speech. Which words to choose. Engage in visual resources and presentation technology. What to wear during your presentation. My part was to tell what the appropriate attire was to wear during your speech depending on what type of speech it was. What types of speeches there were and how to improve your delivery during a presentation. I was extremely nervous to be on camera and present my part of the PowerPoint. After rewatching the video of myself I see the mistakes, I made and what I could have done better. I spoke extremely fast, and you can tell I was extremely nervous just by the way I was speaking. I have always been nervous when it comes to doing a speech in front of people. I have gotten better at it over the years and after watching and listening to everyone's presentations and learning from the book I think I may be more prepared for my next presentation.

Group 3 was the last group to give their presentation over the chapters in the book they were assigned. I feel like they had the most time to be prepared to present and was able to watch the first two groups give their presentations. In their presentation you learned how to make informative speeches. How to make a persuasive presentation. How to prepare for special occasion presentations. How to make a good group presentation. I feel like all those subjects are important in public speaking in general. Most speeches are informative in my opinion even if its persuasive they have to inform you on things in order to persuade you on things.  I also learned that using humor and wit helps get the audience's attention. You can't just go in and read straight from the paper you will lose the audience's attention fast or put them to sleep. It also helps to reward the audience by reminding them on how the information your presenting is important.

So, in conclusion I think all the groups did well in their presentations with the time they were allotted.
I learned a lot from the presentations and I'm confident that the next time I have to speak in public i will be better prepared to deal with my anxiety of speaking in front of people. I might still be flush, have sweaty hands and feel like passing out but with this lesson I think I will be better prepared to deal with those emotions and be able to deliver an effective speech no matter what kind it may be.
